Job summary

Simplesense Inc. in Denver seeks a Senior Infrastructure Automation Engineer to design and implement scalable automation, IaC tooling, Linux systems, and network workflows across customer environments, including facility-edge, on-premises, and cloud-connected deployments.

You will partner with Connectivity and engineering teams, travel quarterly, and onboard facilities into our hybrid-cloud platform while upholding security by design and zero-trust principles in a DoD-focused environment.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of experience building infrastructure automation, systems engineering, network infrastructure, or platform engineering solutions in complex environments.
• Strong experience automating infrastructure provisioning, configuration, or lifecycle management using Git workflows, configuration data, IaC, CI/CD, testing, scripting, and code reviews.
• Strong hands-on experience with Linux operating systems, system configuration, package/service management, debugging, and scripting.
• Solid understanding of network design, segmentation, VPNs, firewalls, encryption, and secure connectivity patterns.
• Proven ability to independently solve ambiguous technical problems within a complex platform or infrastructure domain.

Responsibilities

• Lead the design and implementation of reusable tooling, configuration management, and network infrastructure-as-code workflows across customer environments.
• Develop and maintain automation for Linux-based systems and network appliances, including bootstrapping, secure configuration generation, and updates.
• Translate onboarding and sustainment needs into scalable workflows for provisioning, connectivity, configuration, validation, monitoring, upgrades, and sustainment.
• Build automation patterns that align with zero-trust principles, network segmentation, and access controls.
• Produce design documentation, implementation guidance, and operational handoff materials to reinforce engineering standards.
• Provide code and design reviews and mentor junior engineers to grow the team's software-driven provisioning approach.
