Job summary

Heartland Business Systems is seeking a Technical Architect to develop, implement, and support network services for consulting clients. You will mentor peers, lead engineers on multi-technology projects, and maintain strong client relationships to identify business challenges and craft effective specifications.

The role requires 5+ years in a technical field, Bachelor’s degree or equivalent, and multiple professional certifications.

Qualifications

• 5+ years in a technical related field.
• Bachelor’s Degree or equivalent certifications/experience.
• Two or more professional level certifications (CCNP, CCP-V, VCAP-DCV, MCA).
• Experience designing and architecting network-based solutions.
• Experience installing and supporting Cisco/HP-Aruba switches and routers.
• Experience with IOS, IOS-XR, NX-OS.
• Knowledge of OSPF, EIGRP, BGP, L2/L3, multicast, QoS.
• Strong prioritization and teamwork.

Responsibilities

• Play an active role by collaborating with Practice Leads to create and maintain documents and procedures.
• Execute on large projects with Project Managers and Practice Leads on time and on budget.
• Provide leadership and guide the Project Management Team and engineers to complete tasks accurately and timely.
• Be the Lead Engineer on projects with multiple technologies.
• Provide daily project updates and proactively communicate timelines, hours, resources, concerns.
• Drive collaboration across business units to deliver a world-class customer experience.
• Demonstrate excellent communication in team and customer meetings.
• Contribute to product selection, configuration standards and educate sales teams.
• Maintain a professional demeanor in a team-driven environment.
• Pursue ongoing growth per the Engineering skills matrix, targeting project experience, leadership, certifications and tech expertise.
• Meet annual billable hour goals as defined by HBS.
