Job summary

Serco North America is seeking a Senior Engineer for the Maritime Engineering Operation (MEO) in Alexandria, VA, supporting Navy and commercial maritime customers. Qualifications

• The ability to obtain/maintain/transfer a DoW Secret security clearance.
• A Bachelor's degree from an ABET-accredited university in Systems Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Naval Architecture, Marine Engineering or related field such as Ocean Engineering.
• 8 years of experience with the US Navy.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills in a collaborative team environment.
• Strong verbal and written communication skills with the ability to convey complex technical issues to technical and non-technical stakeholders.
• Demonstrated command of engineering principles, methods, and ship systems.
• Customer and organizational communication, presentation, and interpersonal skills.
• Experience with Navy acquisition programs.

Responsibilities

• Support Navy contracts and diverse programs.
• Design, develop, and evaluate engineering solutions for projects or systems.
• Conduct research, data analysis, and technical calculations.
• Prepare and review technical reports, drawings, and documentation.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams (design, manufacturing, operations).
• Assist in project planning, scheduling, and cost estimation.
• Troubleshoot technical issues and recommend corrective actions.
• Ensure compliance with safety standards, regulations, and quality requirements.
• Support testing, implementation, and maintenance of engineering systems.
