Job summary

Serco Inc. is seeking an HM&E Systems Engineer to provide technical support to the U.S. Navy Surface Ship Fleet, focusing on lifecycle management, maintenance planning, and modernization efforts.

You will coordinate with NAVSEA and other naval centers to deliver readiness enhancements and technical actions across ship classes. The role requires an active DoW Secret clearance and a degree with naval electrical experience, with proficiency in Microsoft Office and travel up to 10% as needed.

Qualifications

• Active DoW Secret clearance is required.
• Bachelor’s degree with 5 years naval shipboard experience or HS diploma with 10 years relevant naval electrical experience.
• Knowledge of U.S. Navy electrical configuration principles and processes.
• Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite.

Responsibilities

• Analyze equipment failures, casualty reports, and maintenance actions; develop findings and recommendations.
• Provide engineering support for HM&E systems across U.S. Navy surface ships and amphibious platforms.
• Perform lifecycle engineering assessments and maintenance effectiveness reviews.
• Review and support development of technical documentation and installation procedures.
• Draft and support Naval Advisory Messages addressing fleet material issues and risks.
• Use Navy communication systems to prepare advisory communications.
