Job summary

Wounded Warrior Project (WWP) is seeking a Senior National Service Officer–Appeals to advocate for veterans before the VA, manage appeals, draft decisions, and coordinate with field staff. This role requires strong knowledge of VA benefits law, the appeals process, and at least five years in a veterans benefits advocacy role.

Qualifications

• Five years of experience as a veteran's benefits advocate.
• Bachelor's degree required; Juris Doctorate may be considered in lieu of advocate experience.
• Knowledge of 38 U.S.C. and VA regulations is essential.

Responsibilities

• Draft decisions for review by VLJ, including complex cases.
• Manage appeals dockets and distribute electronically to field staff.
• Prepare appellate briefs and conduct hearings docketed at BVA.
• Review Board decisions and coordinate with VA offices and WWP teams.
• Train Benefits Services teammates on best practices in VA appeals.
