Wounded Warrior Project (WWP) is seeking a Senior National Service Officer-Appeals (SNSO-Appeals) to advocate for veterans and their families in VA benefits appeals. The role involves drafting decisions, reviewing medical and lay evidence, managing appeal dockets, and coordinating with VA entities.

The SNSO-Appeals ensures evidence development and case strategy alignment with AMA and legacy systems. The position requires deep knowledge of 38 U.S.C.

Qualifikationen

• Expert knowledge of the laws and regulations pertaining to Veterans benefits.
• Extensive knowledge of the Appellate Process.
• Ability to render valuable assistance to claimants before the VA.
• Demonstrated proficiency in developing appellate and higher-level legal arguments.

Aufgaben

• Draft decisions for review by a Veterans Law Judge (VLJ).
• Manage appeals dockets and distribute electronically to field staff.
• Prepare appellate briefs and conduct hearings docketed at the Board of Veterans Appeals.
• Review Board decisions and determine cases for the Court of Appeals for Veterans Claims.
• Assist Benefits Training team on best practices in structuring arguments before VA offices.
