Job summary

Qualifications

• Four years of underwriting, claim, operations, risk assessment, actuarial, sales, product, or finance experience.
• CPCU designation.
• Bachelor's degree required.

Responsibilities

• Manage profitability, growth, and retention of an assigned book of business.
• Underwrite and negotiate complex customer accounts to minimize risk and maximize profitability; may procure reinsurance.
• Facilitate placement of foreign admitted policies and assist in global underwriting services.
• Cultivate internal and external relationships to create sales plans and cross-selling opportunities.
• Meet with agents and brokers to market Travelers products and write/retain accounts per risk appetite.
• Develop agency sales plans with MD support and mentor junior underwriters.
