Job summary

Coulomb Solutions Inc. is seeking a Sr. Electrical Power Systems Engineer in Livermore, CA to design, develop, and validate medium‑voltage electrical subsystems for EV power platforms and BESS.

You will work with customers, suppliers, and internal teams on high‑voltage components and system integration. The role focuses on inverters, converters, wiring harnesses, transformers, charging systems, and power distribution equipment, with emphasis on UL standards and grid interaction.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering required.
• Minimum 5 years (7–10 desired) in medium-voltage electrical system design or energy system integration.
• Knowledge of high-power electrical systems for mobile and stationary applications.
• Experience with BESS, microgrids, and high-power vehicle charging systems.
• Familiarity with UL1973, UL9540A, UL508 safety/design standards.
• Proficiency in electrical design tools and simulation platforms (AutoCAD Electrical, PLECS, Simulink, MATLAB).

Responsibilities

• Design, develop, and validate medium-voltage (12-2000V) electrical subsystems for EV power platforms and stationary energy solutions.
• Specify and integrate components including inverters, power distribution, transformers, charging systems, and battery modules.
• Ensure designs comply with UL and grid codes; perform load flow, short-circuit, thermal and grounding analyses.
• Interpret AC grid requirements and integrate CSI products into customer applications.
• Create and maintain schematics, interface specs, wiring diagrams, test plans, and validation reports.
• Support testing, field validation, and issue troubleshooting; collaborate with suppliers and customers.
