Job summary

Hybrid Design Services, Inc. is seeking a Sr. Electrical Systems Engineer to lead design and validation of high‑voltage battery and distribution systems for EV applications.

Based in Troy, MI, this onsite role collaborates with controls, software, and mechanical teams to deliver robust vehicle electrical architectures from concept through launch. The ideal candidate has 8–15 years of electrical/systems experience in EV, automotive, or defense contexts, plus strong MATLAB/Simulink, LabVIEW, CAN

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering or related field is required.
• 8–15 years of experience in electrical/systems engineering in EV/hybrid/automotive contexts.
• Strong proficiency with system architecture, requirements flow-down, and safety concepts.
• Experience with MATLAB/Simulink, LabVIEW, CAN tools, SPICE, and PCB design tools preferred.

Responsibilities

• Lead and support development of high‑voltage battery and distribution systems.
• Define system architecture, requirements, and interfaces for vehicle integration.
• Coordinate with controls, software, mechanical, and manufacturing teams throughout development.
• Perform validation testing, fault analysis, and troubleshooting of HV systems.
• Contribute to safety analyses and DFMEA/PFMEA documents.
• Support build and cross‑functional design reviews.
