Job summary

Coulomb Solutions Inc. in Livermore, CA is seeking a Senior Electrical Engineer to design, develop, and validate medium-voltage electrical systems for battery energy storage systems and commercial EV platforms.

You will lead HV components integration and collaborate with customers and suppliers to bring advanced electrification solutions to life. The role requires 5+ years of MV design or energy system integration experience, strong knowledge of safety standards, and proficiency with design

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering required; advanced degree preferred.
• 5+ years (7–10 preferred) in MV electrical design or energy system integration.
• Experience with battery energy storage systems (BESS), microgrids and high-power charging.
• Knowledge of 600-15kV safety and design standards.
• Familiarity with UL certification processes (UL1973, UL9540A, UL508).
• Proficiency in electrical design tools: AutoCAD Electrical, PLECS, Simulink, MATLAB.

Responsibilities

• Design, develop, and validate MV subsystems (12–2000V) for EV power and stationary energy.
• Specify and integrate components: inverters, converters, PDU, transformers, charging systems, batteries, harnesses.
• Ensure designs comply with standards and certifications (UL1973, UL508, UL9540A).
• Perform load flow, short-circuit, thermal analysis, and grounding calculations.
• Interpret AC grid requirements and integrate CSI products into applications.
• Create and maintain schematics, interface specs, wiring diagrams, test plans, and validation reports.
• Support testing, commissioning, field validation, troubleshooting, and optimization.
• Collaborate across mechanical, software, and controls teams; work with suppliers and customers.
• Assist cost estimation, BOM development, and trade-off analysis.
• Mentor junior engineers and technicians; stay updated on industry standards.
