Job summary

Superior Skilled Trades is seeking an experienced Construction Manager to lead day-to-day construction of for-sale multifamily communities in the San Francisco Bay Area. You will manage site work, horizontal improvements and vertical construction, ensuring schedules, costs, and quality meet project goals.

Ideal candidates have at least five years of multifamily experience with townhomes and multi-story attached housing, and are adept at coordinating with inspectors, trade partners, and internal

Qualifications

• Five+ years of experience managing multifamily residential sites for a production or infill homebuilder.
• Experience with townhomes and multi-story attached residential construction.
• Knowledge of horizontal site development (grading, utilities, infrastructure) and vertical construction.
• Ability to read civil, architectural, structural, and MEP plans.
• Familiarity with California building codes, Cal/OSHA, and SWPPP.
• Proven ability to manage multiple subcontractors, schedules, budgets, and quality.
• Strong leadership, communication, organization, and problem-solving skills.
• Proficiency in construction management software and MS Office.
• Bachelor's degree preferred but not required.

Responsibilities

• Manage horizontal and vertical construction activities on projects.
• Oversee subcontractors, schedule, sequencing, and workmanship.
• Develop and maintain construction schedules and identify delays.
• Lead preconstruction and startup meetings and field reviews.
• Coordinate inspections with municipalities and ensure code compliance.
• Enforce Cal/OSHA, SWPPP, and safety procedures.
• Monitor budgets, review invoices, manage change orders.
• Coordinate with Purchasing, Development, Design, Sales, and Customer Relations.
• Perform quality control, manage punch lists, and pre-closing walkthroughs.
• Support warranty transitions and post-closing issues.
• Maintain daily logs, photos, inspection records, and progress reports.
