Job summary

Horning is seeking an experienced Maintenance Technician III to service Plaza Towers in Hyattsville, MD. The role covers complex, multi-trade repairs across units, common areas, and offices, with responsibility for turns and PM work in a high-rise environment.

You will mentor junior technicians, coordinate vendors, and support capital projects while ensuring safety, quality, and customer service align with Horning standards.

Qualifications

• Five or more years of multifamily, residential, or commercial maintenance experience or an advanced trade credential plus at least three years of related experience.
• Demonstrated multi-trade mastery across HVAC, plumbing, electrical, appliances, and carpentry.
• Experience mentoring or leading junior technicians.
• Proficient with maintenance software and on-call rotation.

Responsibilities

• Diagnose and complete advanced repairs across HVAC, plumbing, electrical, appliances, and carpentry.
• Own vacant unit turns end to end to lease-ready standard within turn timelines.
• Lead preventive maintenance program updates and seasonal changes.
• Mentor and train junior staff and review their work.
• Coordinate vendors and inspect their work for quality and code compliance.
