Job summary

AtWork Group is seeking an Apartment Maintenance Technician for a residential community in Hyattsville, MD. The role involves troubleshooting, repairing, and maintaining apartment facilities while delivering excellent resident service.

You will handle plumbing, electrical, HVAC, carpentry, painting, and make-ready tasks, while participating in on-call rotations and adhering to safety policies. Valid driver’s license preferred. This is a full-time/temporary-to-hire position in a growing community.

Qualifications

• At least 1 year of apartment maintenance experience is preferred.
• Knowledge of plumbing, electrical, HVAC, appliance repair, and general maintenance.
• Ability to use hand and power tools safely.
• Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills.
• Excellent customer service and communication abilities.
• Ability to lift up to 50 pounds and perform physical tasks including bending, climbing, and standing for extended periods.
• HVAC Certification (EPA Universal or Type II) is a plus but not required.
• Valid driver's license and reliable transportation preferred.

• Prepare vacant apartments for new move-ins by completing make-ready work.
• Conduct preventative maintenance throughout the property.
• Assist with maintaining the cleanliness and appearance of the community grounds and common areas.
• Troubleshoot maintenance issues and determine appropriate repairs.
• Ensure all work is completed safely and in compliance with company policies.
• Participate in the on-call rotation for emergency maintenance, as needed.
