Job summary

WSP USA seeks a Lead Movable Bridge/Structural Engineer to join our National Bridges & Structures Practice in Chicago or any US office. Hybrid-workplace model. Lead design, mentor staff, and coordinate with clients and regulators on complex bridge projects.

The role requires 7–10 years of experience, a structural/civil engineering degree, and an engineering license (multi-state preferred). Proficiency in major bridge software and strong communication skills are essential.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in structural or civil engineering or closely related discipline.
• 7–10 years post-education experience with structural design.
• Engineer license; multi-state preferred.
• Strong knowledge of structural and civil construction laws and codes.
• Proficiency in design software and technical writing.

Responsibilities

• Lead design and plan development tasks; perform structural analysis and design.
• Mentor junior staff and coordinate with project teams.
• Oversee budgets, hours, and resources across multiple projects.
• Coordinate with clients, regulators, and subcontractors on design and permits.
• Develop construction plans, specifications, and cost estimates.
• Ensure QA/QC and adherence to codes and safety standards.
