Job summary

WSP USA is seeking a Lead Movable Bridge/Structural Engineer to join our National Bridges & Structures Practice in the Chicago office, or any US office. You will lead design, planning and coordination on movable, fixed and transit bridge projects while mentoring junior staff and ensuring QA/QC.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s Degree in Structural or Civil Engineering or closely related discipline is required.
• 7–10 years of post-education engineering experience with structural design exposure.
• Engineer license required (multi-state preferred).
• Strong knowledge of structural and civil construction laws, codes and regulations.

Responsibilities

• Lead design, plan development tasks and perform structural analysis and design.
• Mentor and develop junior staff and provide coordination on projects.
• Oversee cross-functional teams and manage project budgets, hours and expenses.
• Perform complex investigations of site conditions, resources and permits.
• Develop construction plans, specifications and cost estimates; coordinate with owners and other disciplines.
