Job summary

WSP USA is seeking a Lead Movable Bridge/Structural Engineer to join our National Bridges & Structures Practice. The role offers opportunities to work in a team-focused local office within a large global firm, with hybrid workplace flexibility across US offices including Chicago and beyond.

The position requires leading design, coordinating with clients and cross-functional teams, and delivering complex bridge projects from inception through completion.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in structural or civil engineering.
• PE license required (multi-state preferred).
• Extensive experience in infrastructure planning, design, and program/construction management.
• Strong knowledge of construction laws, codes and regulations.
• Proficient with structural analysis, design software, and technical writing.

Responsibilities

• Lead design, plan development tasks and perform structural analysis and design.
• Mentor and develop junior staff; coordinate with project team.
• Oversee budgets, hours, expenses and QA/QC across projects.
• Coordinate with owners, other disciplines, sub-consultants and clients.
• Develop construction plans, specs and cost estimates; update layout plans.
