Job summary

Anduril Industries is seeking an experienced motor control engineer to design and implement advanced control algorithms for BLDC/PMSM motors. You will model, simulate, and validate controllers in MATLAB/Simulink, and integrate firmware on MCUs with real-time constraints.

Role requires deep expertise in HIL/MIL/SIL, sensorless techniques, and power electronics. U.S. security clearance eligibility is required, with equity and comprehensive benefits offered.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's or Master's in Electrical Engineering or related field.
• 8+ years designing and implementing motor control algorithms for BLDC/PMSM.
• Strong foundation in control theory and state estimation.
• Proficient in MATLAB/Simulink and auto-code generation.
• Experience writing production-quality embedded code on MCUs.
• Familiarity with HIL, MIL, SIL testing and real-time simulators.
• Knowledge of CAN, SPI, UART and power-electronics basics.
• U.S. Person status with ability to obtain security clearance.

Responsibilities

• Design and implement field-oriented control for BLDC and PMSM motors.
• Develop sensorless rotor position estimation techniques.
• Create current, speed, and position control loops with stability margins.
• Build high-fidelity motor and inverter models in MATLAB/Simulink.
• Validate performance with MIL/SIL/HIL testing and real-time simulators.
• Integrate Simulink algorithms with MCU RTOS and drivers.
• Develop motor control firmware in C on microcontrollers.
• Configure peripherals and implement fault detection and protection.
• Support hardware-in-the-loop integration with real-time simulators.
