Job summary

Anduril Industries is seeking a Senior Firmware Engineer to develop motor control and actuator firmware for our autonomous vehicle platforms. The role blends defense/tech expertise and focuses on low-level firmware, motor control, and embedded C across land, air, and sea systems.

You will work with MATLAB/Simulink to model, simulate, and implement control algorithms, bring up new boards, and support design decisions from components through deployments.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, or a related field.
• Experience with classical control systems and MATLAB/Simulink.
• Background in low-level firmware architecture, design and development in C.
• Experience with embedded ARM and motor control modules within ARM microcontrollers.
• Familiarity with SPI, I2C, CAN, and RS485 bus protocols.
• Strong debugging skills with oscilloscopes and protocol analyzers.
• Experience across robotics, automation, motor control, and sensor fusion.
• U.S. Person status is required for export-controlled data access.

Responsibilities

• Develop motion control systems for precision actuators and electric propulsion
• Develop motor control algorithms using MATLAB/Simulink
• Develop motor models and integrate with SITL systems
• Integrate Simulink autocode algorithms with microcontroller C-based RTOS and application firmware
• Assist with part selection, board and product design
• Bring up new boards and toolchains
• Support device manufacturing efforts and operational deployments
