Job summary

SMC Ltd. is a global healthcare contract manufacturer with multiple locations. We seek a Mold Technician to setup, startup, and troubleshoot injection molding processes and mentor junior technicians. The ideal candidate has mold tech training, IQMS knowledge, and at least one year of plastics processing experience.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or equivalent.
• Completion of SMC Mold Tech Level One and Two requirements.
• RJG Fundamentals, Interpreting Graphs, Decoupled II Molding training completed.
• At least 1 year of Thermoplastic/LSR machine set-up experience.
• Knowledge of IQMS and material handling systems.
• Molds knowledge and ability to clean for production runs.
• Mechanical inclination and ability to adapt to changes.
• Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
• Some travel may be required.
• Ability to read, write and communicate in English.

Responsibilities

• Set up, start, and troubleshoot injection molding processes; molds, robots, dryers, and related equipment.
• Inspect and treat molds after production, report mold problems via MRO.
• Operate process monitoring equipment (RJG, Priamus).
• Troubleshoot production problems and identify root causes.
• Record process parameters in IQMS SPC format.
• Maintain a tour-ready production floor and schedule compliance.
• Mentor Mold Technicians Levels One and Two.
• Assist with secondary equipment setup and maintenance.
• Follow training to ensure proper mold protection settings.
• Perform other duties as assigned.
