Job summary

SMC Ltd. in Wisconsin seeks a Mold Tech Level One and Two to set up, start, and troubleshoot injection molding processes, molds, robots, and related equipment.

You will mentor and train Mold Technicians, ensure molds are cleaned and prepped for production, and work with QA and tool room to resolve issues. We welcome applicants from recent graduates to experienced technicians who are mechanically inclined, able to read English, and comfortable in a fast-paced environment.

Qualifications

• High School diploma or equivalent is required.
• Completion of SMC Mold Tech Level One and Two requirements.
• RJG Fundamentals, Interpreting Graphs, and Decoupled II Molding courses completed.
• Minimum 1 year experience in Thermoplastic/LSR machine setup.
• Knowledge of IQMS and material handling system.
• Ability to read, write and communicate in English.
• Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
• Some travel may be required.

Responsibilities

• Set up, start, and troubleshoot injection molding processes, molds, robots, dryers, and related equipment.
• Inspect and treat molds after production; report mold problems to tool room.
• Know process monitoring equipment (RJG/Priamus).
• Troubleshoot production problems and identify root causes.
• Record process parameters in IQMS SPC format.
• Maintain a production floor that's tour ready.
• Mentor Mold Technicians Level One and Two.
• Understand mold protection settings per training.
• Monitor startup/shutdown and maintain machines on cycle.
• Set up secondary equipment (end mills, hot stamping, pad printing).
• Other duties as assigned.
