Job summary

Heartland Business Systems, LLC. is seeking a Senior Modern Work Engineer II to join the Modern Work / Data & AI practice in Wisconsin. You will be a key technical contributor in Microsoft AI and Microsoft 365 projects, focusing on backend development and SharePoint expertise to deliver solutions for our clients.

You will lead presales activities, design solutions, and mentor junior teammates while collaborating with executives and business leaders to align technology with strategic goals.

Qualifications

• 5+ years’ business consulting experience.
• 10+ years analyzing and building existing collaboration systems.
• 10+ years scoping M365 implementation projects, partnering with Engineering and Cloud Architecture teams.
• 10+ years working in SharePoint on prem environments, including SharePoint 2013, 2016, and 2019.
• Active technical certifications in Microsoft Modern Workplace.
• Maintain an outcome focused mindset.
• Have strong prioritization skills.
• Always be a team player.
• Carry a professional attitude and respectful demeanor.

Responsibilities

• Provide 2-4 hours/week of support for project and escalated incident management tickets for current customers with focus on customer satisfaction and quality.
• Lead pre-sales activities including meeting prospective clients, solution design, proposal writing, and project estimating.
• Engage with clients to understand their business needs and propose Microsoft 365 Modern Work solutions that align with their goals.
• Dedicate time to researching, evaluating, and integrating new technologies related to Microsoft applications (SharePoint, M365 Copilot, and the broader suite).
• Lead cross-functional teams through complex business problems to successful delivery of a technology solution.
• Mentor junior Modern Work and AI teammates, investing in key M365 best practice education.
• Work with business leaders outside of IT to develop solutions.
• Communicate key messages at both Executive and technical leadership levels.
• Be a thought leader on the team in designing, coding, unit testing software.
• Delight clients by delivering Microsoft-based solutions that simplify business processes.
• Share, build, and follow team quality processes in projects and support activities.
