Job summary

Cox Fleet, a leading on-site mobile maintenance provider, seeks a Sr. Mobile Diesel Technician to perform DOT inspections, preventative maintenance, and complex repairs in a mobile/field setting across light to heavy-duty fleets.

Lead on jobsites, diagnose issues, and coordinate with customers and teams to ensure high-quality service. Responsibilities include documenting work on RO via TRAIT, maintaining the service truck, and ensuring compliance with OSHA, EPA, and DOT regulations.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED plus 5 years in a related field, or an equivalent combination.
• Strong diagnostic and repair skills across electrical, hydraulics, and mechanical systems.
• Ability to operate test instruments and hand tools.
• Ability to manage parts inventory and daily scheduling.

Responsibilities

• Perform DOT inspections, preventive maintenance, and repairs on mobile/field trucks (light to heavy).
• Diagnose and repair electrical, brake, cooling, and engine systems.
• Document work in RO using mobile devices and TRAIT app; complete DOT forms.
• Maintain and drive company service vehicle; conduct safety checks and pre-/post-trip inspections.
• Communicate with customers to assess needs and provide solutions.
• Source parts from local and national vendors and obtain approval for estimates.
