Job summary

Fleet Services by Cox Automotive is seeking a Sr. Mobile Diesel Technician in Tampa, FL. You will perform licensed DOT inspections, PMs, and complex diagnostics in a mobile/field environment, often serving as the lead on-site and consulting with customers.

Strong diagnostic skills and independence are essential. Responsibilities include managing parts, maintaining the service truck, and ensuring safety and regulatory compliance.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED with 3+ years in a related field; alternative combos accepted.
• 3+ years of experience with refrigerated equipment.
• Own set of hand tools required for duties.
• OEM training and ASE certifications preferred.
• DOT pre-employment screening and DOT physical required.

Responsibilities

• Perform DOT inspections and preventive maintenance on light–heavy trucks in mobile/field settings.
• Diagnose and repair electrical, hydraulic, and mechanical systems on trucks.
• Independently manage parts inventory and service truck equipment.
• Document work and upload photos on RO using TRAIT/iOS device.
• Ensure safety, regulatory compliance (OSHA, EPA, DOT) and timely DOT forms.
