Job summary

Rush Truck Centers is seeking experienced Mobile Diesel Technicians to maintain client fleets and respond to on-site service calls, delivering expedited diesel expertise directly to customers’ trucks and equipment. The role emphasizes thorough preventative maintenance, diagnostic accuracy, and strong customer relations.

Candidates should have substantial dealership experience, a valid CDL preferred, and a FMVSA medical card where required.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required.
• 5 years' experience as a Class 7 & 8 technician in a dealership or related truck service facility.
• Current CDL preferred but not required.
• Medical card as required by FMVSA.
• Mechanical aptitude and technical ability is a must.

Responsibilities

• Maintain all aspects of equipment according to company standards.
• Handle basic maintenance of the truck including fueling, oil checks, cleanliness, and inspections.
• Manage inventory control on the service truck and keep it stocked.
• Report to the Service Manager and be assigned daily duties.
• Maintain availability for after-hours service calls with flexible schedule.
• Maintain and inventory the supplied tools for diesel engine trucks and related equipment.
• Read job orders and observe vehicle operation to plan work procedures.
• Utilize diagnostic equipment and technical information to perform correct repairs.
• Diagnose and replace components such as injectors, pistons, liners, and bearings.
• Document and submit paperwork or enter into the mobile service program promptly.
