Job summary

Rush Truck Centers is seeking Experienced Mobile Diesel Technicians to service our clients on-site across the fleet. Tenured, certified technicians will provide expedited expertise directly at customer locations to maintain trucks and equipment.

Responsibilities include diagnosing and repairing diesel engines, managing service truck inventory, and documenting all work. CDL is preferred; ASE certifications are a plus. Competitive pay and benefits offered.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required or equivalent.
• 5+ years of experience as a Class 7 & 8 technician in a dealership or truck service facility.
• CDL preferred but not required.
• FMVSS medical card as required.
• Mechanical aptitude and technical ability essential.
• Peterbilt, International, Ford, Hino, Isuzu, Cummins and ASE certifications preferred.

Responsibilities

• Maintain all aspects of equipment per company standards.
• Perform basic maintenance of trucks (fuel, oil, cleanliness, inspections).
• Manage service-truck inventory and keep vehicle stocked.
• Report to Service Manager and take assigned duties daily.
• Be available for after-hours service calls and open work schedule.
• Maintain and inventory tools needed for diesel engine trucks and equipment.
• Read job orders, listen to vehicle operation, plan procedures.
• Use diagnostic equipment and technical info for repairs.
• Replace injectors, pistons, liners, cam shafts, bearings, pans, brakes, batteries, transmissions.
• Document diagnostics and work in the company system.
• Check guards and safety devices; adjust as needed.
• Lubricate parts and verify repairs meet specs.
• Perform preventative maintenance as requested.
• Submit paperwork accurately and timely in mobile service program.
• Answer customer inquiries and foster positive relations.
• Advise customers on repairs to be done within 3 months.
• Participate in training and apply it on the job.
