Job summary

Cox Fleet is seeking a Sr. Mobile Diesel Technician to perform licensed DOT inspections, preventative maintenance, and advanced diagnostics in mobile/field settings. Lead on jobsites, deliver high-quality repairs, and consult with customers to ensure service excellence.

Responsibilities include diagnosing complex issues, managing parts on a service truck, completing DOT forms, and maintaining safety compliance with OSHA, EPA, and DOT regulations. Requires strong toolset and tool-handling skills.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma/GED and 5 years' experience in a related field. The right candidate could also have a different combination, such as any level degree/certification beyond a HS diploma/GED in a related discipline and 3 years' experience; or 7 years' experience in a related field
• Possess and supply a set of hand tools necessary to perform required job duties.
• OEM training and certifications are preferred.
• This position follows regulations issued by DOT/FMCSA; DOT physical/background screening required.

Responsibilities

• Perform scheduled preventative maintenance (PM), DOT inspections and follow up repairs on light, medium and heavy-duty vehicles in a mobile/field environment.
• Diagnose and repair electrical, brake, cooling, engine and drivetrain systems on trucks.
• Inspect and test equipment; road test vehicles to confirm proper operation.
• Document work performed and parts used in Repair Orders using iOS TRAIT app.
• Maintain and operate company service truck and perform pre-/post-trip inspections.
