Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required.
• 5 years' experience as a Class 7 & 8 technician in a dealership or truck service facility.
• Current CDL preferred but not required.
• Medical card as required by FMVSS.
• Mechanical aptitude and technical ability are required.
• Peterbilt, International, Ford, Hino, Isuzu, Cummins, & ASE certifications preferred.

Responsibilities

• Maintain all aspects of equipment according to company standards.
• Handle basic maintenance of trucks and document inspections as assigned.
• Manage inventory on the service truck and keep vehicle stocked.
• Report to the Service Manager and perform daily assigned duties.
• Remain available for after-hours service calls and open work schedule.
• Read job orders and diagnose malfunctions to plan repairs.
• Utilize diagnostic equipment and technical information for repairs.
• Diagnose and replace components such as injectors, bearings, clutches, brakes, and transmissions.
• Perform diagnostic and documentation functions in the company computer system.
• Inspect protective guards, bolts, and safety devices; make adjustments.
• Lubricate parts and road-test to verify conformance to specs.
• Perform preventative maintenance as requested.
• Document and submit paperwork accurately in the mobile service program.
• Respond to customer inquiries and foster positive relations.
• Advise customers on repairs to be performed within 3 months.
• Participate in training and apply it to work.
