Job summary

Cox Fleet in Chesapeake, VA seeks a Sr. Mobile Diesel Technician to perform on-site PMs and inspections on a range of trucks in a field environment.

You will diagnose and repair multiple systems, road test vehicles, and document findings using our TRAIT app, while maintaining vehicle safety and regulatory compliance. The role requires a HS diploma/GED with 5 years’ related experience (or 3 years with a higher degree), ASE T8 and 608/609 certifications within 18 months, DOT background/medical

Qualifications

• High School Diploma/GED with 5 years’ related experience (or 3 years with a higher degree).
• Own set of hand tools necessary to perform required duties.
• ASE T8 (PMI) certification within 18 months.
• ASE 608/609 certification within 18 months.
• DOT pre-employment background screening and DOT physical.
• Valid driver’s license and ability to obtain Driver Qualification File.

Responsibilities

• Perform PM and DOT inspections on light to heavy‑duty vehicles in a mobile/field setting.
• Diagnose and repair electrical, braking, cooling, engine and transmission systems.
• Road test vehicles and document findings on Repair Orders via TRAIT app.
• Manage parts inventory and company service truck operations.
• Ensure compliance with OSHA, EPA and DOT safety regulations.
