Job summary

Cox Automotive is seeking a Mobile Diesel Technician II to perform DOT inspections, preventative maintenance, and complex diagnostics in a mobile/field setting. You will work closely with customers, manage parts and documentation, and uphold safety and DOT compliance while operating company vehicles and tools.

Ideal candidates have a HS diploma/GED with related experience and ASE certifications are preferred.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma/GED with 3+ years in a related field or 5 years' related experience.
• DOT/FMCSA requirements and DOT medical card considerations at recruitment.
• ASE certifications are preferred for advanced diagnostics and oversight.
• Proactive safety, tooling and documentation proficiency required.

Responsibilities

• Perform DOT inspections and PMs on light to heavy vehicles in mobile/field settings.
• Diagnose and repair electrical, braking, cooling systems and more on trucks.
• Test, road-test, and document findings; upload RO details via TRAIT app.
• Coordinate parts, estimates, and approvals with management and customers.
• Maintain vehicle and tool readiness; follow safety and DOT guidelines.
