Job summary

Cox Fleet is seeking a Mobile Diesel Technician II to perform licensed DOT inspections, preventive maintenance, and advanced mechanical diagnostics in a mobile/field environment. This role requires strong problem-solving, tool-use skills, and the ability to manage tasks independently while delivering high-quality repairs for light to heavy-duty trucks and trailers.

Ideal candidates will have a HS diploma/GED, 3+ years in related field, and ASE certifications within 18 months.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED required, with 3 years in a related field or 5 years of related experience.
• Experience with refrigerated equipment is a must.
• Must supply own hand tools for required duties.
• OEM training and certifications preferred/encouraged.
• DOT and FMCSA compliance knowledge and pre-employment screenings required.

Responsibilities

• Perform DOT inspections and preventive maintenance on light, medium, and heavy-duty vehicles in mobile/field settings.
• Diagnose and repair electrical, fuel, braking, cooling, HVAC, and engine systems.
• Maintain and document service on RO using mobile device and TRAIT app.
• Coordinate with customers and management for approvals and task prioritization.
