Job summary

Cox Fleet in the United States is seeking a Sr Mobile Diesel Technician to perform DOT inspections, preventive maintenance, and complex repairs in a mobile/field setting. You will diagnose systems across electrical, hydraulic, and engine domains and coordinate with customers on repairs.

The role emphasizes independent scheduling, tool usage, and adherence to DOT/FMCSA regulations, with travel requirements and performance-based incentives available.

Qualifications

  • High School Diploma/GED plus 3–7 years of related experience or an equivalent combination.
  • At least 3 years of experience with refrigerated equipment.
  • Must possess and supply a set of hand tools required for the job.

Responsibilities

  • Perform scheduled PMs, DOT inspections, and follow-up repairs on light, medium, and heavy-duty vehicles.
  • Diagnose and repair electrical, HVAC, braking, and engine systems in a mobile/field environment.
  • Test, road-test, and diagnose malfunctions using test equipment and handheld devices.
  • Manage parts inventory on the service truck and document RO findings in TRAIT app.
  • Communicate estimates and obtain approvals with management and customers.
