Job summary

Endeavor Health’s Evanston Hospital is seeking a Medical Laboratory Scientist (MLS) Senior - Special Coag for a full-time day shift. The role covers immunology, chemistry, hematology, urinalysis, coagulation and flow cytometry with instrument ownership and QA oversight.

You will train staff, maintain detailed records, review results, and help develop laboratory policies. Requirements: BS in Biology or Chemistry, MLS (ASCP) or equivalent, and 5+ years as MLS with quality/troubleshooting expertise.

Qualifications

Bachelor of Science in Biology or Chemistry.
MLS (ASCP) certification or equivalent.
5+ years as MLS with progressive quality and troubleshooting expertise.
Immunology, Chemistry, Hematology, UA, Body Fluids and Coagulation experience.

Responsibilities

Overseeing clinical laboratory tests in the immunology area with instrument ownership and QA oversight.
Contributing to the creation and reviewing of laboratory policies and procedures.
Maintaining detailed records of laboratory procedures and results.
Providing training, orientation, and ongoing education to laboratory staff.
Fostering a culture of continuous learning and professional growth within the department.
Perform tests in Chemistry, Hematology, Urinalysis, Coagulation; Special Coagulation and Flow Cytometry on the day shift.
Promotes patient satisfaction and instructs staff to treat patients courteously.
