Job summary

Agero is seeking a Senior Machine Learning Engineer to advance our ML initiatives. You will develop and deploy algorithms that improve operations and customer satisfaction, and guide projects from ideation to production.

This role involves collaborating with cross-functional teams and mentoring junior engineers. You will leverage AWS SageMaker, Python data tools, and scalable architectures to drive innovation, while staying abreast of new ML techniques and industry trends.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Mathematics, or related field (Advanced degree preferred).
• 3-5 years of software application development and design experience.
• 3-5 years of experience with Machine Learning systems.
• 3-5 years of experience with AWS services (ECR, S3, SageMaker).
• 5+ years of Python (Pandas, Numpy, Scikit-learn).
• Experience building large, complex systems, including web services and RESTful APIs.
• Nice to have: tree-based models, DVC, Airflow and/or SQL.
• Strong understanding of scalable application design principles.
• Excellent communication skills and collaboration with cross-functional teams.
• Motivation to explore data and its business impact.

Responsibilities

• Design, develop, and implement machine learning models and algorithms to optimize operations and service delivery.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to define requirements and deliver scalable solutions.
• Lead full lifecycle ML projects from ideation to deployment and maintenance.
• Ensure best practices in model evaluation, validation, and monitoring.
• Drive continuous improvement in ML applications and processes.
• Provide technical guidance and mentorship to junior team members.
• Stay updated on ML advances and recommend new approaches.
