Job summary

Blue Origin is seeking a Sr Mission Systems Engineer to lead the technical development of complex space missions within the Mission Engineering & Architecture organization. You will shape new products, mission areas, and programs, and play a key role in capture and proposal efforts.

You will architect mission systems, lead critical trade studies, ensure system integrity from concept through mission execution, and provide technical leadership with high autonomy.

Qualifications

• BS in Aerospace, Mechanical, Electrical Eng, or Physics.
• 8+ years in systems engineering or mission design.
• Ability to lead technical projects autonomously.
• Understanding lifecycle from requirements to test.
• Experience leading trade studies and complex system architecture.
• Experience with capture/proposal efforts and MBSE tools.
• Proficiency in Python or MATLAB.

Responsibilities

• Support formulation of products, mission areas, and programs.
• Contribute to capture and proposal activities, including technical content.
• Develop mission architectures, CONOPS, and end-to-end system designs.
• Decompose mission objectives into verifiable requirements.
• Drive trade studies to optimize system performance, cost, schedule.
• Define and manage system interfaces across vehicle and ground segments.
• Oversee verification, validation, and test campaigns.
