Job summary

Blue Origin is seeking a Mission Systems Engineer to join the Ground & Spaceflight Operations team. You will work with flight vehicle, ground software, flight control operators, and payload customers to define and verify requirements and ensure reliable spaceflight operations.

The role involves planning update cycles, integration and test activities, and training events, with a focus on operability across the space-ground system and collaboration in a fast-paced environment.

Qualifications

• B.S. in aerospace engineering, mechanical engineering, electrical engineering, computer science, physics or related technical field.
• 5+ years of experience in Ground Systems architecture, software development (Python), spacecraft operations, or CCSDS protocols.
• Experience in a complex system lifecycle from requirements to operations.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• Active Top Secret Clearance.

Responsibilities

• Identify and maintain Mission Systems requirements with traceability and verification/validation.
• Collaborate with flight vehicle, ground software, flight control operators, and payload customers.
• Define ground system and data communications architectures for real-time spacecraft and ground system operation.
• Define and maintain ground element interface requirements and control documents.
• Plan and perform frequent mission system product update cycles, integration and test activities, and validations leading to operations training and flight.
• Conduct testing of ground system functionality and measure performance.
• Perform flight software to ground systems integration and test.
• Analyze operability across the Space-Ground System and support improvements where justified.
