Blue Origin LLC is seeking a Sr Mission Systems Engineer in the In-Space Systems unit to lead the technical development of space missions from concept to execution. You will orchestrate mission architectures, requirements, and verification across vehicle and ground segments, and drive critical trade studies with autonomy.

The role emphasizes proposal support, capture activities, and serving as a technical authority on mission systems, with travel up to 25% and potential TS clearance requirements.

Qualifications

• Bachelor degree in Aerospace, Mechanical, Electrical, Physics or related field.
• 8+ years in systems engineering, mission design, or complex system development.
• Ability to lead technical projects with autonomy.

Responsibilities

• Support formulation of new products and missions from customer needs into technical concepts.
• Contribute to capture and proposal activities including technical content and reviews.
• Develop mission architectures, CONOPS, and end-to-end system designs for space applications.
• Decompose mission objectives into verifiable system requirements with traceability.
• Lead trade studies to optimize performance, cost, and schedule; present findings to leadership.
• Define and manage system interfaces; lead interface control activities across vehicle and ground segments.
• Provide systems engineering support to multi-disciplinary teams; oversee verification and testing campaigns.
• Contribute to technical design reviews and act as a technical authority for the mission system.
