Job summary

Blue Origin is seeking a Sr Mission Systems Engineer within the Mission Engineering & Architecture organization in the United States. You will support the development and maturation of new business opportunities, lead critical trade studies, and ensure technical integrity from concept to mission execution.

The role requires autonomy, strong communication, and experience with MBSE tools, interfaces, and verification campaigns; relocation and travel may be required, and a Top Secret clearance is

Qualifications

• Bachelor degree in a technical discipline required.
• 8+ years of systems engineering or mission design experience.
• Ability to lead technical projects with high autonomy.
• Strong understanding of systems engineering lifecycle and best practices.
• Experience leading trade studies, analysis, and complex system architecture.
• Experience supporting capture and proposal efforts with technical content.
• Proficiency in Python or MATLAB for analysis.
• Experience with MBSE tools such as Cameo/SysML.
• Excellent communication skills to influence multidisciplinary teams.
• Ability to obtain and maintain a Top Secret clearance (preferred).

Responsibilities

• Support the formulation of new products, mission areas, and programs translating customer needs into technical concepts.
• Contribute to capture and proposal activities including developing technical approaches and content.
• Develop mission architectures, CONOPS, and end-to-end system designs for space applications.
• Decompose mission objectives into verifiable requirements with traceability.
• Lead complex trade studies to optimize system performance, cost, and schedule.
• Define and control system interfaces; lead interface control working groups.
• Provide systems engineering support to a multidisciplinary team.
• Oversee verification, validation, and test campaigns.
• Contribute to major design reviews as a technical authority.
