Job summary

GHD is seeking a Senior Project Manager – Reclamation & Closure to lead complex mining projects through planning, execution, and delivery across the full lifecycle. You will manage multidisciplinary teams and ensure performance on scope, schedule, budget, quality, and safety while maintaining strong client relationships.

The role requires deep experience in mine permitting, reclamation, closure, and post-closure activities, plus strong financial acumen and risk management.

Qualifications

• Minimum 10+ years of consulting experience for mining clients (environmental, geotechnical, or mining disciplines).
• Experience in environmental, infrastructure, reclamation and closure projects for mining.
• Strong ability to manage budgets, schedules, forecasts, and contractual requirements.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• Willingness and ability to travel to client sites and project locations.
• Familiarity with project management best practices is a plus.
• Professional registration (PE/PG) a plus, but not required.

Responsibilities

• Lead complex mining projects and programs from planning to completion.
• Develop project execution plans, scopes, schedules, budgets, and resource plans.
• Guide multidisciplinary teams including scientists, engineers, and permitting specialists.
• Monitor performance to meet scope, schedule, budget, quality, and safety goals.
• Identify risks and implement mitigation strategies.
• Oversee subcontractors and specialized teams.
• Facilitate client meetings and maintain stakeholder communication.
• Ensure compliance with PM procedures and quality systems.
• Manage project profitability, forecasting, invoicing, and change management.
• Track metrics and implement corrective actions as needed.
• Optimize utilization of project resources.
