Job summary

GHD seeks a Senior Project Manager – Reclamation & Closure to lead mining projects end-to-end, from planning to post‑closure, across the western region. You will oversee multidisciplinary teams, manage budgets, and ensure regulatory compliance while driving profitability and client satisfaction.

Hybrid work model with office presence three days a week; travel to client sites and project locations as needed. A strong background in mining, permitting, and closure is essential.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in engineering (civil, environmental, geological, geotechnical, mining) or science (geology, hydrogeology, geochemistry, environmental science) or related technical discipline.
• Minimum 10+ years of consulting experience for mining clients with environmental or geotechnical investigations, mining-influenced water, hydrology, hydrogeology, geochemistry, mine planning and closure, tailings design, permitting and regulatory compliance.
• Minimum 5+ years’ experience managing environmental, infrastructure, reclamation and/or closure projects, preferably for mining.
• Experience managing project budgets, schedules, forecasts, and contractual requirements.
• Proven ability to lead client engagements and maintain strong relationships.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• Willingness to travel to client sites and project locations.
• Self-starter with sound judgment and decisiveness.
• Project management best practices experience a plus; PE/PG a plus.

Responsibilities

• Lead planning, execution, and delivery of complex mining projects across full lifecycle.
• Develop project execution plans, scopes of work, schedules, budgets, and resource plans.
• Lead multidisciplinary teams including environmental scientists, engineers, geologists, permitting specialists, and construction professionals.
• Monitor performance, ensure delivery on scope, schedule, budget, quality, and safety.
• Identify and mitigate project risks; oversee subcontractors and specialized teams.
• Facilitate project meetings and maintain stakeholder communication.
• Ensure compliance with PM procedures and quality management systems.
• Accountable for project profitability and financial performance.
• Manage budgets, forecasting, invoicing, AR, and change management.
• Track metrics and implement corrective actions; optimize resource use.
• Support business development, proposals, interviews, and strategic account planning.
