Job summary

Stantec is seeking an experienced Mine Technical Services Manager to lead North American resource geology, mining, advisory services, and mineral processing teams across a Western U.S. footprint.

The role demands broad mining experience across open pit and underground operations, with a focus on technical leadership, business development, and client engagement. The successful candidate will manage a multidisciplinary team, drive project scopes, and mentor junior staff.

Qualifications

• B.S. in Mining Engineering or related field from an accredited university.
• MBA degree is an asset but not required.
• Minimum of 20 years of relevant study/project and/or program management experience.
• Direct study experience in the mining and/or heavy industry sectors is required.

Responsibilities

• Lead and direct a team of mining engineers, geologists, economists, and designers from studies to full execution.
• Engage in business development with external relationships and key clients.
• Contribute to an innovative, collaborative work environment prioritizing creativity and performance.
• Regularly interface with clients on project technical issues.
• Serve as program manager, account manager, or project sponsor on key accounts and projects.
• Define scope and execution plans with multi-disciplinary teams; translate client objectives into actionable work plans.
• Advance study management processes including risk/value management and option evaluation.
• Act as technical peer reviewer or Qualified Person for NI43-101, JORC, and SEC SK-1300 reporting.
• Assist clients in crafting study narratives for stakeholder presentations.
• Travel to client sites or other Stantec offices (~10% travel).
