Job summary

Hudbay Minerals U.S. Business Unit seeks a Mine Operations Superintendent in Helvetia, AZ to lead open-pit copper extraction, loading, and haulage. You will manage daily production targets, budgets, and fleet productivity while upholding a strong safety culture.

Reporting to the Mine Manager, you will coordinate with engineering, geology, maintenance, and processing teams to optimize throughput from mine to mill. A BS in Mining Engineering and 10–12 years of experience are required.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in mining or related field.
• 10–12 years of progressive open-pit mining experience.
• 3–5 years in senior leadership roles.

Responsibilities

• Direct daily open-pit mining activities including loading and haulage.
• Manage budgets, OPEX/CAPEX, and fleet productivity.
• Enforce MSHA/compliance and drive safety culture.
• Coordinate with mine engineering, geology, maintenance, and processing teams.
• Lead continuous improvement to optimize throughput from mine to mill.
