Job summary

Granite Construction is seeking an experienced MEP Estimator to prepare detailed estimates for Mechanical, Plumbing, Fire Protection, Electrical, Technology, and LV systems within the Federal Division. You will work with estimators, management, and JV partners to review bid documents and manage project risks from concept through construction documents.

Ideal candidates have 7+ years in estimating with 4+ years in MEP disciplines, strong software skills (HeavyBid, BlueBeam, AutoCAD), and a solid

Qualifications

• 7+ years of construction estimating support or related experience.
• 4+ years estimating experience in Mechanical, Plumbing, Fire Protection, Electrical, Technology, and LV systems.
• Experience with DB/CMAR or alternative delivery methods is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Prepare quantity take-offs, analyses, estimates for MEP systems from conceptual design through construction documents.
• Review bid documents, assess project risks, and coordinate with estimators and management.
• Develop relationships with subcontractors, vendors, and suppliers.
• Utilize BIM software to assist pre-construction and construction tasks for MEP.
• Prepare and assemble proposals for lump sum, GMP, and Cost Plus contracts.
• Assist Operations with knowledge transfer during hand-off of estimates.
• Travel for site visits or pre-bid meetings as required.
