Job summary

DESTINATION ENTERPRISES INC. is seeking a senior-level estimator specializing in MEP trades to report to the PMO Program Controls Manager and Lead Estimator.

You will plan and participate in preparing cost estimates for buildings, evaluate consultant deliverables, and prepare fair proposals for extra work. You will conduct site visits, perform MEP quantity takeoffs, and collaborate with project teams to identify cost-saving opportunities.

Qualifications

• Ten (10) years minimum in complete cost estimates for I/II/III and V building construction as defined by the State building code, including 5–7 years in MEP estimating.
• BS/BA in Engineering, Architecture, Construction Management, or related field.
• Expert in cost estimating theories, principles, and contract pricing.
• Expert in Design Build, Design Bid Build, and Job Order Contracting forms.
• Full knowledge of construction methods for buildings and structures and current local labor/material costs.
• Full knowledge of MEP systems and industry standards.
• Extensive experience preparing change orders estimates.

Responsibilities

• Plan and participate in preparing construction cost estimates from drawings and specifications.
• Prepare estimates per design based on scope and building type.
• Evaluate cost estimates from consultants for containment, accuracy, and completeness.
• Prepare fair estimates for proposals from Contractors for extra work.
• Perform site visits to collect information for project estimates.
• Takeoffs and quantity surveys for MEP systems (mechanical, electrical, plumbing).
• Evaluate pricing documents and historical/vendor data for estimates.
• Analyze bids, change orders, and value engineering reports for accuracy.
• Collaborate with PMs, engineers, and architects to identify value engineering opportunities.
• Work independently and in a fast-paced team environment.
• Perform basic Excel calculations.
