Job summary

UMass Memorial Health is seeking a qualified Medical Technologist to perform and interpret a wide range of laboratory tests across the Core Lab. The role offers independence in an environment committed to patient care, quality control, and safety.

Requires a Bachelor’s degree in Medical Technology and solid experience in high‑complexity testing. The position involves supervising through established protocols, maintaining equipment, and adhering to CLIA regulations.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree or completion of accredited four‑year Medical Technology program.
• ASCP certification as MT is preferred but not mandatory.
• Three years of related experience required.
• Equivalency of education and experience may be considered per CLIA/lab policies.

Responsibilities

• Follow established protocols to perform tests, including high complexity, in assigned area.
• Interpret test results with patient history to guide clinical decisions.
• Troubleshoot testing process discrepancies and maintain equipment.
• Ensure compliance with laboratory quality and safety policies.
