Job summary

UMass Memorial Health in Massachusetts is seeking a Medical Technologist with leadership potential to join our Core Lab on the night shift. You will perform and interpret complex tests, ensure quality control, and mentor junior staff, while maintaining rapid turnaround times.

Responsibilities include troubleshooting, developing procedures, training students, and ensuring safety and compliance across hematology, chemistry, and blood bank workflows.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Medical Technology or equivalent.
• Must qualify as General Supervisor under CLIA high-complexity testing; bachelor’s in chemical/biological/clinical lab sciences or MT plus experience.
• Three years of related experience preferred; equivalency considered when allowed by regulation.

Responsibilities

• Follows established protocols to perform tests in assigned area, including high-complexity tests.
• Interprets and correlates test results with patient history and condition.
• Troubleshoots testing process discrepancies and maintains quality control.

Education

Bachelor’s degree in Medical Technology

ASCP MT certification (preferred)
