Job summary

Alphatec Spine, Inc. in Carlsbad, CA, United States, is seeking a Software Engineer II to support software development for ATEC's surgical navigation and robotics platform.

You will design, implement, test, and document software to meet FDA quality and reliability standards and user needs. Responsibilities include collaboration with cross‑functional teams, performing integration and system testing, and contributing to regulatory artifacts.

Qualifications

• Experience with commercial software development.
• Experience with C++ and Linux strongly preferred.
• Experience with Agile software development methodologies, Git / Azure DevOps / Jira.
• Experience in a government-regulated product environment desirable.

Responsibilities

• Design and implement high quality applications and frameworks targeting the Unix/Linux platform.
• Design and implement application software in C++.
• Assist product owners and senior engineers in analyzing future product features, including feasibility, effort, and technical tradeoffs.
• Perform integration and system level testing of software and software/hardware systems.
• Develop documentation related to software development projects (design artifacts, test plans/cases, etc.).
• Assist with technical support for field-deployed software applications; collaborate with clinical and field teams to gather information, investigate issues, drive improvements.
• Travel up to 15% of the time.
