Job summary

ATEC Spine seeks a Software Engineer II to contribute to our surgical navigation and robotics platform, designing, developing, testing, maintaining and validating software for FDA‑regulated medical devices that meet user needs and reliability standards.

You'll participate in requirements reviews, design, usability, risk assessment and testing, collaborating with mechanical, electrical, systems and test engineers, and travel up to 15% to support field deployments.

Qualifications

• 3+ years of commercial software product development.
• Experience with C++ and Linux strongly preferred.
• Experience with Agile software development methodologies and tools (Git, Azure DevOps, Jira).
• Experience in a government‑regulated product environment desirable.

Responsibilities

• Design and implement high quality applications and frameworks for Unix/Linux.
• Design and implement application software in C++.
• Assist product owners and senior engineers in analyzing future product features.
• Perform integration and system level testing of software and software/hardware systems.
• Develop documentation related to software development projects.
• Support field‑deployed software applications and collaborate with clinical and field teams.
• Participate in clinical prototyping, testing, and evaluation in cadaveric labs as needed.
• Maintain version control and unit testing to support regulatory evaluation and test efforts.
• Travel up to 15% of the time.
