Job summary

Alphatec Spine seeks a Senior Software Engineer in Carlsbad, CA to design, develop, and maintain Windows-based applications and distributed services. You will work on embedded and backend components, ensuring robust integration, testing, and documentation across globally distributed teams.

Required 5–8+ years in software R&D, strong C#/.NET and WPF skills, and experience with FDA-regulated environments and CI/CD pipelines. Onsite work 5 days/week in the U.S..

Qualifications

• 5-8 years of commercial software development experience in R&D
• BS/MS degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, or related field preferred
• Experience designing, developing, and maintaining Windows applications and distributed services
• Familiarity with FDA-regulated environments (QSR, IEC 62304, ISO 13485)

Responsibilities

• Design, implement, and maintain Windows-based applications, frameworks, and distributed services.
• Develop features for embedded systems and distributed architectures.
• Ensure robust inter-service communication with RabbitMQ or similar.
• Perform integration and system-level testing across software/hardware.
• Plan tasks, execute development work, and provide clear status updates.
• Create and maintain design artifacts and technical documentation.
