Job summary

TMC Health seeks a skilled Health Information Technician to assign ICD-10-CM/PCS, CPT or HCPCS codes for inpatient and outpatient records using the latest code sets. You will ensure documentation supports accurate coding and reimbursement, while leveraging 3M 360, CAC, and Epic systems.

Preferred candidates hold RHIT/RHIA/CCS credentials and have at least five years of acute hospital coding experience. Strong communication and time management skills are essential to succeed in this role.

Qualifications

• Completion of an HIM education program or equivalent experience.
• Five years of acute care hospital coding experience required.
• RHIT/RHIA/CCS/CCS-P/ CPC/CIC/COC or equivalent certification preferred.

Responsibilities

• Assigns accurate ICD-10-CM/PCS, CPT or HCPCS codes to diagnoses and procedures per documentation.
• Code inpatient or outpatient records; capable of coding four outpatient categories independently.
• Follow current coding guidelines to ensure accuracy and compliant reimbursement.
• Utilize 3M 360, CAC, Epic and other coding tools as needed.
• Clarify documentation with providers to ensure coding completeness and reimbursement.
