Job summary

Virtua Health is seeking a hospital medical coder to code inpatient records and abstract data accurately using ICD-10-CM/PCS and CPT-4. The role requires attention to detail, compliance with UHDDS, and collaboration with CDI staff to clarify documentation.

Minimum two years inpatient coding experience and knowledge of medical terminology are required. AHIMA CCS certification is expected for hires after 10/1/2025. Benefits are included for full-time roles.

Qualifications

• Minimum two years inpatient records coding experience.
• Knowledge of Anatomy & Physiology/Medical terminology required.
• Coding education or equivalent experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• Accurately codes inpatient, observation, and related records using ICD-10-CM/PCS, CPT-4 and encoder.
• Ensure DRG assignments and abstracted data meet UHDDS standards and guidelines.
• Maintain accuracy, compliance, and support performance improvement activities.
